Our Board Members bring decades of experience across women’s rights, human rights, academia, governance, activism, and social justice movements — guiding Aman Vedika’s vision with integrity and compassion.

Prof. (Retd) Rama S. Melkote

President
Prof. Rama Melkote is a former professor of political science at Osmania University, Hyderabad. She is a founder-member and currently President of Aman Vedika and Anveshi Research Centre for Women’s Studies. She is an author, translator, and editor of seminal feminist works, and has served as State Advisor to the National Food Security Commission.

Dr. K. Lalita

Vice President
Dr. K. Lalita is a researcher, editor, and author in Telugu and English. She is a co-author and editor of landmark feminist historiography works including *We Were Making History* and *Women Writing in India*. She is a founder member of Progressive Organisation of Women, Stree Shakti Sanghatana, and Anveshi.

R. Indiramma

General Secretary
Rachuri Indiramma has worked for over 20 years on Self Help Groups, ICDS, women’s empowerment and rights-based campaigns. She serves as Project Lead for Aman Vedika’s Home for Destitute & Homeless Women program.

A. V. Ambika

Treasurer
A. V. Ambika is a human and child rights activist, school teacher, theatre artist, singer and documentary filmmaker. She contributes her creative and advocacy skills while overseeing Aman Vedika’s financial governance.

K. Anuradha

Joint Secretary
K. Anuradha is a key advocate for mainstream education of street children and residential care under the Urban Deprived Children program. She has worked with ActionAid, UNDP South Asia, and Andhra Pradesh Mahila Samaikya.

Bezwada Wilson

Executive Committee Member
Bezwada Wilson is the National Convenor and founder of Safai Karmachari Andolan (SKA), a leading movement against manual scavenging. An Ashoka Senior Fellow and Ramon Magsaysay Awardee, he provides strategic advocacy support to Aman Vedika.

M. A. Shakeel

Executive Committee Member
M. A. Shakeel is a legal expert and rights-based activist from Hyderabad, working extensively on human rights, domestic violence, minorities, and marginalized communities. He contributes to governance and legal strategy at Aman Vedika.
